Oak Park 2019 QB Dwan Mathis closes in on The Opening invite (Story)
Oak Park 2019 QB "ATH" Dwan Mathis who is committed to Michigan State is competing this weekend at the Elite 11 in California for a chance to be invited to the prestigious The Opening.
24 Quarterbacks are competing for 11 spots in The Opening. The Elite 11 is a 3-day camp from Friday to Sunday where QB's are evaluated and ranked by the staff from #1-#24.
The top 11 ranked QB's will head to The Opening.
After 2 days, Mathis is ranked as the #7 QB, Mathis will look to finish stronger today to climb up in the rankings.

- Player Analysis
8/23/2017: We have seen the growth first hand in Dwan Mathis for a 4th year in a row. Mathis is a bit more polished throwing the ball and has the athletic abilities that just make you say, "wow." We expect Mathis to receive plenty of snaps this year at; QB, WR, and DB. He's too talented of a player to keep on the bench, but Oak Park is deep at receiver anJaeyveon Morton d defensive back anyways.
College interest: Mathis was offered by Akron as an 8th grader and has racked in a variety of 7 others since. The most recent was Michigan State following a July visit.
