Cranbrook wins opening round of CHSL tournament, defeats Everest Collegiate 55-49.

The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes defeated the Clarkston Everest Collegiate Mountaineers 55-49 in the opening round of the CHSL Basketball Playoffs.

The Cranes led 33-18 led at the half, powered by a 25 point second quarter. Cranbrook kept away the Mountaineers with key free throws and a big 3 point shot by Alex Finney.

Senior center Tim Hauxwell led the Cranbrook scoring with 16 points. Junior guard Alex Finney had 14 points.Junior guard Torrell Williams contributed 10 points.

Senior JC James and senior Kaman Nallamothu both had 12 points for Everest Collegiate.

Cranbrook moves to 15-1 (11-1) on the season while Everest Collegiate moves to 7-10 (3-9).

Cranbrook advances to play WOLL in the semi-final round of the CHSL playoffs.
