Grand Haven led 29-25 halfway through the third quarter while the Mustangs struggled to get quality looks offensively. The Bucs went on a 7-0 run to end the quarter leading 42-29 which was their largest of the game.
In the fourth quarter the turnovers for Portage Central began to add up while Bucs guard Kyler Cotton knocked down two three-pointers off the bench to expand the Grand Haven lead to 48-35. The Mustangs had one last run in them trailing 51-43 with 2:30 to play, but once again the turnovers crushed their chance of closing the gap.
