Game I Attended: Edwardsburg 63, Plainwell 42

The Wolverine Conference has been an extremely competitive league this season with multiple teams in the hunt for a conference title. Plainwell is off to a surprising start at (11-3) and (9-1) in conference play. The downside for the Trojans is that they have only defeated two teams with winning records (Three Rivers, Dowagiac). Edwardsburg got off to a quick 8-2 start led by a couple of three-pointers from Jake Moore. Plainwell battled back to take the lead at 21-20 after the first quarter. The Trojans guards led the way in the first quarter with seven points from Sam Gibson and eight points from Holden Deaton. Plainwell continued to hold onto the lead at 27-25 with 4:09 left in the second quarter. Edwardsburg responded with a 9-0 run to close the half holding Plainwell scoreless over the final four minutes. The Eddies took a 34-27 lead into the break. Edwardsburg continued to dominate in the third quarter outscoring Plainwell 19-9 as Jake Moore continued to score for the Eddies. Plainwell was unable to muster any type of run in the second half only knocking down six shots from the field after halftime. Edwardsburg came away with a 63-42 victory improving to (10-4) overall. The Eddies were led by Jake Moore with 20 points including four three-pointers while Luke Stowasser scored 19 points and Jacob Pegura added 10 points. Plainwell was led by Jack Anderson who scored 13 points while junior guard Sam Gibson chipped in 12 points.
