Best Win: Holland Christian over Covenant Christian 57-52
The Holland Christian Maroons entered 2023 with a (1-4) record in need of a win. Covenant Christian entered the game losing four of their past five but still held a key win over Unity Christian in the opening week. Covenant led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but the Maroons charged back with a huge comeback in the second half to defeat the Chargers. Senior guard Kyle Cannon led the Maroons with 32 points in the victory. This comeback win provides Holland Christian with plenty of confidence entering OK Blue play.
Next Best: Unity Christian over Schoolcraft 57-43
Unity Christian is another team that was hungry for a victory after beginning the season (1-3). The Crusaders played host to the reigning division three champions, Schoolcraft. It was Unity Christian handing their second straight loss to Schoolcraft, improving their record to (2-3). Schoolcraft is a young team this year after having to replace three starters from their Breslin run last season. I expect both of these teams to improve over the course of the next two months.

- Undefeated (4-0) Wayland was handed their first loss of the season by Lowell 78-68
- Catholic Central senior guard Kaden Brown became the all-time leading scorer for the Cougars with his 18 points against East Grand Rapids
- FH Eastern stayed unbeaten (7-0) with a victory over Potter’s House Christian
- South Christian defeated crosstown rival Byron Center for the sixth straight season with a 71-56 win led by 28 points from Carson Vis
