West Michigan Roundup, Monday 12/13/21

Another small Monday night slate took place across West Michigan last evening. The main event of the night featured a young (1-0) Bronson team traveling to face perennial power Brandywine in their season opener. Brandywine won in a 70-48 blowout to start their season with a win. Brandywine lost two first-team all-conference players from last year and seem to reload just about every year now. I had them ranked #7 in the D3-D4 SW Michigan rankings, but if this result is any indication, they should probably be ranked even higher up. Other games of note included Berrien Springs improving to 3-0 after a 5-10 season last year.

  • Berrien Springs 83, Career Academy South Bend 62
  • Calvary Christian 81, WM Academy of Environmental Science 27

Bradley Richards (Calvary Chr.): 22 pts 12 reb

  • Howardsville Christian 64, Heritage Christian 39
  • Newaygo 71, Wellspring Prep 61
  • Niles Brandywine 70, Bronson 48

Tuesday’s slate should be a lot of fun. I will be at Hartford vs. Comstock as I plan to see a couple of new teams this week. Tentatively planning on seeing White Pigeon at Centreville on Friday as I continue my Southwest 10 Conference tour.
