Berrien Springs traveled across the border to Indiana to take on the South Bend Career Academy. The Shamrocks came away with their second win of the season defeating the Career Academy 51-49. Berrien Springs will travel to Cassopolis on Friday for a difficult road game against the (1-0) Rangers.
Hartford 49, Martin 44
The newly-named Hartford Huskies opened their season up at home facing the (0-2) Martin Clippers. Hartford was able to hold off the Clippers and improve to (1-0). The Huskies will be attempting to rebuild this season after losing three all-conference players to graduation, including star player Kaden Johnson.
Niles Brandywine 66, Bronson 51
In the game of the night, (1-0) Bronson hosted (2-0) Niles Brandywine in a battle between two top-ten area programs. Brandywine led 31-30 at halftime but pulled away in the second half. The Bobcats were led by junior Jaremiah Palmer’s 19 points while Byron Linley chipped in 13 points. Senior Aden Hathaway led Bronson with 13 points in the defeat. Brandywine will travel to Buchanan on Friday for a conference matchup while Bronson will return to their home floor on Thursday against Concord.
