West Michigan Roundup, Friday 2/19/21

Last night was a busy one across the west side. Many big games took place including two in the OK White. GR Christian beat Northview 77-58 led by 29 points from Kobe Bufkin, while Northview’s Kyler Vanderjagt scored 31. FH Northern beat East Grand Rapids 75-33, EGR has had a tough week with losses to Northview and FHN. Some surprising scores include Grand Haven upsetting Rockford 62-49 and Allendale over Coopersville 50-49.

Best Win: Grand Haven over Rockford 62-49

Huge win for the Bucs last night at Rockford. Grand Haven moves to 3-0 in the OK Red and as of right now they are in first place.

Next Best: Allendale over Coopersville 50-49

Allendale has been a surprise this season with a 4-1 record now. Coopersville came into the game off a close to Unity Christian looking to bounce back. With this big win Allendale moves into second place of the OK Blue behind undefeated Unity Christian.

Best Comeback: Paw Paw over Vicksburg 61-59

Desperately needing a win Paw Paw came back from 16 down to win on the road at Vicksburg. Paw Paw lost to Edwardsburg and Allegan earlier in the week. Tonight they were led by Mitchell Mason with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Still Unbeaten: Howardsville Christian (6-0)

The Jason Jergens-led Eagles have found themselves in multiple big games this season and have won every one. With wins over Marcellus, Eau Claire, and Bridgman, this Howardsville Christian team is legit.
