Utica and Eisenhower - who share field and will meet in Round 1

Locals know it by what it's called, Swinehart Field.

People outside of the Shelby Township area might not know that Utica and Eisenhower which are two different high schools and share fields at Swinehart which is on the campus of Wiley Elementary School across the street from Utica High.

Several years ago, the MHSAA decided to rename Eisenhower High School, "Utica Eisenhower." It has left fans around the state stumped in knowing the difference between Ike and Utica.

Coincidentally the two schools will meet on the same field for the first time since 2007 which was a few years after Swinehart went from grass to turf.

Due to Eisenhower having the higher amount of Playoff Points, the Eagles will claim homefield advantage.

Bulldogs get shafted in pairings! Have to face arguably top two team in Oakland County and then top team in Macomb County if they win? Meanwhile Dakota who finished behind Romeo in Mac Red and lost heads up gets easy HOME game! I guess playoff points don't count for anything.

"Those 256 11-player teams are then split into eight equal divisions based on enrollment, and their locations are marked on digital maps that are projected on wall-size screens and then discussed by nearly half of the MHSAA staff plus this year two representatives from the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association. Only the locations themselves are marked (by red dots) – not records, playoff point averages or names of the schools or towns. In fact, mentions of those are strictly prohibited. Records and playoff points are not part of the criteria. Matchups, rivalries, previous playoff pairings, etc. also DO NOT come into play."
