Coach Reggie Wynns had his weekly training, so why wouldn't we take the drive from another nearby camp? The Rising Stars coaches put the players through drills, 1on1's, and conditioning. Plus it's always good for us to catch up with former Central Michigan QB Joe Youngblood.

Note: There were seniors and older players also working out, but not mentioned in this report.

#1 Top Performer:

Cass Tech 2022 DT/OL Deone Walker - This off-season has been an unforgettable one for Walker as he went from 9 offers to 32 and he even trimmed it down to 13 schools he's interested in on Monday, 4/26. As for the 6'7 330 Walker, he's an incredible athlete - looked incredible in footwork drills and other DL-specific drills. In 1on1's, he pretty much lined up at every position besides for Center. Besides for his unbelievable versatility, his handwork is on another level than anyone we've seen. (Premium video highlights)

Top Performers:

Belleville 2022 OG/OC Ja’kobe Watkins - The 6'3 290 lbs interior lineman is always one of the best lineman we've seen at camps and when covering Belleville during the season. He was the only one we've seen win a rep vs. Deone Walker. He's always so physical and is quick on his feet. He holds 8 D1 offers now. (Premium video highlights)

Divine Child 2023 OG/OC/OT/DT Dylan Senda - 6'5 270 lbs lineman is really technically sound and is tremendously quick on his feet. He's lined up at all 3 positions on the OL and looked good. Senda didn't get beat often. He holds 14 offers now and seems like things will pick up much more in the near future. (Premium video highlights)

Lake Orion 2022 OG/OT Daniel Babcock - 6'4 295 lbs versatile prospect who went between Guard and Tackle a bit in 1on1's. Has a big frame and will depend on the college scheme for his next-level position. Has mauler tendencies which is his physicality but is very good in pass blocking.

Chippewa Valley 2024 DT Anthony Wright - 5'11 255 now but will surely grow in size, talent-wise it will be scary to his continued development. Wright was a starter for CV in the MAC Red in 2020 and will be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Detroit Catholic Central 2022 WR/CB Kam Davenport - 6'1 180 lbs ATH played on both sides of the ball and I think colleges will ask him a lot this summer to camp to switch which side of the ball he's working out as. Davenport has good ball-skills, hands, and a quick burst out of breaks. So far has 1 offer from Bowling Green State. (Premium video highlights)

Chippewa Valley 2022 WR Maddox Altamirano - 6' 170 receiver who is very dynamic in the Slot. Good routes, has quick feet, and is pretty sure-handed which we saw at training, during the season, and in 7on7 during the winter. Should draw some D1 interest and heavy interest from the D2's/NAIA's. (Premium video highlights)

Chippewa Valley 2025 WR Deshaun Lanier - 5'10 165 receiver who plays much bigger than his size, he's had a really big off-season and has competed vs. high school upperclassmen a lot. Has good quickness and has good twitch. Also surprising for his age, is how good his ball skills are. (Premium video highlights)

West Bloomfield 2022 OLB/S Bertrelle Shelby-Rankin Jr. - Has been having a big off-season this year after a good junior season in which he made some key plays during WB's run to the Division 1 State Championship. 6' 180 who should draw some serious interest at camps this summer. (Premium video highlights)

West Bloomfield 2024 CB Jamir Benjamin - Certainly one of the worst kept secrets in the state here. 5'10 175 CB will surely in due-time be one of the better DB's to come out of the state powerhouse. A very active DB who closes in hard on the ball and has good length. He's the younger brother of Purdue DB, Anthony Romphf.

North Farmington 2022 CB Jasper Beeler - An exciting CB to watch, has really good athleticism and fluidity. Good DB skills and has good length.

Michigan Collegiate 2022 WR Tre Redding - Nothing crazy like you would expect from the younger brother of former BGSU WR Teo Redding. We've seen Tre make some incredible catches in the past year.

Clarkston 2023 RB Ethan Clark - Had a big sophomore season on varsity until he was injured. We've seen him this off-season in 7on7 and working out with receivers on Sunday. Clark will be a much more dynamic player when you see him this year.

Harper Woods 2022 QB Vinny Booth - 6'3 205 QB has certainly cemented himself as one of the top senior quarterbacks returning in Michigan this off-season. He's looked good everywhere we've seen him this off-season. Picked up his 1st offer last week from Morgan State. (Premium video highlights)

UD Jesuit 2022 QB Nathan Brown - We highlighted the 6'2 180 lbs QB last week following his solid performance in 7on7. Brown is a 4-year starter, has an active and strong arm. He's certainly a QB who will draw looks this year and also in discussion as a top 2022 QB in Michigan.

Flushing 2022 DT/MLB London Claxton - Physical prospect who did drills with both LB's and DL and the same with 1on1's. He looked good in drill work. In 1on1's he got by Senda twice and definitely is an impressive prospect to know.

North Farmington 2022 DE/DT Chike Udemba - 6'1 220 active pass rusher who gets off quick and has some good physical traits.

Lansing Waverly 2022 QB Tyrese Miller - 6'3 180 lbs QB who looked good in drill work and is a good athlete. He's waited behind upperclassmen at Waverly and excited to see what he does as a senior. He's definitely put in the work at his HS and off-season work. (Premium video highlights)

L'Anse Creuse 2023 QB Jaiden Sanders - Looked much better at training than he did earlier in the day at the Air Assault Showcase. 5'10 165 QB did well in drills and was solid in 1on1's. (Premium video highlights)

Eisenhower 2024 QB Preston Crum - Made school history this past season by being the 1st freshman QB to start on varsity at Ike. The 6' 170 lbs QB threw as well as anyone at the camp and clearly is a name to know going forward.

Troy 2023 CB/WR Darius Whiteside - Good athlete at 6'2 and is still very young and raw. Was really good in 1on1's and used his length to break up several passes.
