Prospects The D Zone will be seeing on 9/14 (Story)

The fourth week of the MHSAA football season promises to be a good one with many highly competitive games with ranked teams vs. one another and other key rivalry games.

The D Zone staff on Friday will be at: Walled Lake Western vs. Waterford Mott, Traverse City Central vs. Traverse City West, and Henry Ford vs. Mumford.

Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.

Waterford Mott:

2019 WR/DB Kobe Myers is 6'2 190 lbs and is the #32 ranked prospect by The D Zone for the class of 2019. Myers is an explosive and versatile athlete who is utilized to get the ball in space. Myers coincidentally played on Walled Lake Western last year. Myers holds 8 offers.

2020 WR Christian Fitzpatrick is a 6'3 205 lbs receiver prospect with excellent hands and route running abilities. Fitzpatrick is getting his first real taste of Varsity this year and has been a key piece for Mott being off to a 3-0 start. Fitzpatrick who holds 7 offers is ranked by The D Zone as the #23 player in the class of 2020.

2021 DB/WR Quillen Howze who is 6'1 180 lbs is ranked by The D Zone as the #5 player in the Class of 2021. Howze is a very solid DB prospect who moves well and has excellent ball skills. Howze is certainly a player beginning to see his recruiting pickup as a sophomore.

2019 LB/RB Luciano Pedini who is 6'1 215 lbs is a prospect who is overlooked but has had an extremely productive past few years at Mott, as he's a sure-tackler, good run stuffer, and draw a lot of interest from high academic schools.

2021 OLB/WR Jaillen Howze is an exceptional athlete at 6'1 185 lbs who has great physical intangibles and moves extremely well.

2021 LB Xayion Styles is a well built together sophomore linebacker who is a name to know.

2019 WR KaMariell Manley is a nice 6'1 180 lbs receiver prospect with good length and speed.

2019 DB/RB Keimonnee Fields is a nice prospect with good versatility and has a knack for making plays.

2019 QB Matt Castillo is a 6' 200 lbs QB with a good arm that is strong and pretty accurate, has good pocket presence for being a 1-year varsity starter.

2019 RB Marcus Guerrero is one of the biggest performers yet least recognized players in the state due to being 5'7 180 lbs. Guerrero is a tank in the weight room and it shows on the field with strong runs and he has good speed.

2019 OC Nick Harden is a 6'1 280 lbs OC with good balance and has a lot of experience playing varsity. Harden is certainly a player able to play on next level.


Walled Lake Western:

2019 QB Sam Johnson who is the #23 ranked prospect in the class of 2019, is committed to Boston College. Johnson is a 4-year starting QB and can make all the throws.

2019 OT Spencer Brown is the #25 ranked prospect in the class of 2019, Brown is the LT for the Warriors and at 6'6 has very good athleticism. Brown is committed to Michigan State.

2019 OL Jacob Dean is a towering prospect at 6'9 310 lbs and is the #81 ranked prospect in the class of 2019. Dean holds 7 offers.

2019 Slot/CB Malcomb Baker is the #96 ranked player in the class of 2019 as the 5'7 165 lbs receiver is a route technician and has good hands, knack for making plays.

2020 WR Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen is the #14 ranked player in the class of 2020 with 19 offers. The 6'1 180 lbs receiver runs great routes, has deceptively great speed, and has sure hands.

2020 S/WR Calvin Brown is a 5'11 175 lbs Safety prospect who holds 6 offers. Brown is a nice S prospect with good instincts, pursues play well, and has good length. Brown is ranked as the #22 prospect in the class of 2020.

2019 OT Keegan Vaughan is a 6'6 290 lbs prospect with good athleticism who surprisingly hasn't seen his recruiting process take off, but should see a rise these last 4 months.

2019 OL/DT Nathan Garmo is a 6'3 290 lbs interior lineman with good fundamentals and is certainly a player who will be getting looks.

2019 K Aidan Jennings is one of the top kickers/punters in the class of 2019. Should have D1 opportunities by the end of the year.

2021 Slot Justin Gabriel is a explosive playmaker with good hands and has the ability to make something out of nothing. Holds an NAIA offer from Lawrence Tech.

2021 OG Caidon Haliburton is an upcoming 6'1 320 lbs prospect who is already a monster in the weight room. Haliburton is certainly a player to watch for in the future.


Traverse City Central:

2019 DE Jack Sherwin is the #62 ranked player in the Class of 2019 as the Western Michigan commit is a freak off the edge with good pass rushing abilities and a high-motor.

2019 QB Tobin Schwannecke is a nice prospect at 6'3 195 lbs, plays QB for the Trojans and is a nice dual-threat QB with good physical intangibles.

2020 OLB Mitch Stachnik is a nice 6'1 175 lbs OLB prospect who moves great with good pursuit to ball and finishes strong on tackles.


Traverse City West: (Hudl is set to private, can't evaluate ahead of game)

2020 WR/DB/R Aidan Griggs is West's every down, big threat.

2019 MLB/RB Odin Soffredine is a 6' 215 lbs MLB prospect.

2019 DT/RB/LB Kyle Withers is 5'10 195 lbs.

2019 WR/DB Braden Rubinas is 6'1 170 lbs.

2021 RB/OLB Christian Boivin is a nice sophomore impact player.


Henry Ford:

2019 LB Phillip Dotson logged 2 safety's in their week 1 game. 5'10 180 lbs.

2019 WR Camare Johnson is a former QB turned WR, 6'4 height.

2020 QB Cardier Poellnitz took over at QB this year as a junior and is a playmaker.

2019 DE/OC Julian Smith 6'2 220 lbs OC/DE prospect.


Mumford:

2019 QB Tahj Stewart is a 5'11 180 lbs versatile dual-threat QB.

2020 OT James Toles is a junior who is 6'3 315 lbs.

2019 WR Jason Singleton go-to 6'2 205 lbs receiver.
