The D Zone's Stu Carlin will be covering this key SEC Red matchup as #18 Saline hosts Monroe, the winner wins the SEC Red outright. Both teams enter with 6-1 records and both are undefeated in league play. Saline lost to #6 Chippewa Valley in week 1 while Monroe lost to Jackson who has turned out to be an excellent team. Saline is so disciplined and plays so well together, that they're tough to stop, but Monroe has the big play capability to make this a great game.

Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.

Monroe:

2019 ATH Maleik Linton is the Trojans offensive star as he doesn't project to play QB in college, but is such a dynamic playmaker that they cannot afford to not have the ball in his hands. Linton is a dual-threat QB and a solid CB who has 23 tackles this year.

2019 OLB Hayes Brooks is a 6' 196 lbs LB who as expected has had a huge year so far with 71 tackles and 15 tackles-for-loss. Brooks is going to have an active night as we expect him to step up even more in such a big game.

2019 OG/DT P.J. Brown is the state's leader in Pancake Blocks with 60 through 7 weeks. The 6'4 305 lbs prospect has been experiencing a major surge in his recruiting process with 7 NAIA offers.

2019 RB/DB Jalen Johnson is a 5'10 180 lbs speedster.

2019 DT/OT Joe Schnorberger is a 6'2 250 lbs interior mauler.

Saline:

2019 CB/WR MJ Griffin is the #55 ranked prospect in the state as he's headed to Temple. Griffin is an excellent; physical, fast, and aggressive player who is always playing with great effort. Griffin is the type of player who can make a game-changing play in a clutch moment.

2019 WR Brendan Murphy is a solid receiver prospect at 6'2 225 lbs that Monroe will need to key in on short-mid passing yard situations, but Murphy moves so well in his routes and Monroe will need to respect that.

2019 DE Brad Wisniewski is a high-motored 6'3 230 lbs prospect. Wisniewski being a player who doesn't take plays off and plays with a lot of energy is a threat to have some key defensive stops in this game.

2019 OLB Connor Terech is a 6'2 205 lbs LB who has good burst and can get downhill in closing gaps fast. Also drops back pretty well in coverage.

2019 DE/OLB Jonah Ashby is a 6'2 220 lbs prospect who holds a D3 roster spot from Mount Union. Ashby has spent a lot of time in the opponents backfield this year with 11 tackles-for-loss and 3 sacks.

2020 RB Alex Morrison is a nice standout junior the Hornets at 6'1 210 lbs. Morrison took several D1 visits last month.

2019 RB Brendan Munday is a 5'9 195 lbs tough as nails RB that can run well between the Tackles.

2019 K/P James Turner has been very solid this year for the Hornets with 22 touchbacks and 7 field goals kicked. Turner is 6' 193 lbs.

2019 QB Andrew Arbaugh is 5'11 160 lbs and is the straw that stirs the Saline offense as he's a nice QB who does a little bit of everything good.

2019 RB/OLB Hayden Scott is 5'10 170 lbs part of Saline's rushing attack and is an excellent blocker on film.
