Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Gaylord and Traverse City West (Story + Game Preview)
The D Zone's Jeff Corrion will be covering this Saturday's game at Thirbly Field in Traverse City as West hosts Gaylord as TCW looks to move one step closer to winning the Big North Conference championship. TC West has been one of the hottest teams in the state since turning around a terrible start to the season as they've won 4 straight and can clinch a playoff birth with a win. The Blue Devils dropped a heartbreaker last week, with a 1 point loss to Petoskey and are 5-2, so they too can clinch a playoff birth with a win on Saturday night.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Traverse City West:
2020 WR/DB/R Aidan Griggs is West's every down, big threat in all 3 phases of the game. He was outstanding when we seen him play earlier this year and we expect several big plays from on this night.
2019 MLB/RB Odin Soffredine is a 6' 215 lbs MLB prospect, a tough as nails prospect who just gets to the ball and is fundamentally solid.
2019 DT/RB/LB Kyle Withers is 5'10 195 lbs and a tough player who has come up key as the year as gone on at RB with a game-winning touchdown a few weeks ago.
2021 RB/OLB Christian Boivin is a nice sophomore impact player. He came up huge for the Titans when we seen them earlier this year as he has good ball skills and is only getting better.
2021 CB Patrick O'Connor had 2 PBU's when we seen them play earlier this year. O'Connor is solid all-around and is a player that Gaylord isn't probably going to try messing with.
2020 DE/TE Zac Tokie is a solid 2-way player that stood out to us in a big way earlier this year. We're intrigued to see how much he's improved as he's a very solid player.
2019 OT Andy Schollette is a nice sized offensive lineman who West can run behind. He gets to the next level well and is very physical.
2019 WR/DB Braden Rubinas is 6'1 170 lbs. Doesn't do anything fancy, but is solid.
2019 RB Allen Rosa a solid all-around runningback in West's wing-t offense. Good runner between and outside of the Tackles.
Gaylord:
2019 OG/OC/DT Bryce Neff is a 6'3 280 lbs lineman who was pretty impressive when we seen him at a camp in June. We look forward to seeing the interior lineman in-person on Saturday.
2019 MLB James Miller is a 6' 220 lbs linebacker for the Blue Devils, who can get downhill fast. It will be tough seeing his coverage skills vs. a wing-t offense as we expect him to be filling gaps and running sideline-to-sideline all game.
2020 WR Jake Cleaver is a 6'2 180 lbs junior receiver on a senior loaded team, he'll be key if Gaylord can pass as they've really improved as a unit and Cleaver is going to need to make good plays with his size and athleticism.
2019 DE Demetrius Miller is Gaylord's top pass rusher at 6'2 205 lbs, they'll need him to be in the backfield frequently.
