Prospects Recap from Ortonville-Brandon vs. Fenton (Story)
Ortonville-Brandon scored 26 straight points to erase a 14-0 deficit. On the final play, Brandon needed to take one last play and a pile ensued, a whistle was blown with 2 seconds remaining but the clock didn't stop and Fenton was left in disbelief as the game ended. Fenton 2019 DE Parker Brady was stretchered off the field in an ambulance due to a concussion in the 3rd quarter. This was Fenton's first league loss since Lapeer West in 2013.
Ortonville-Brandon:
2019 QB Matt Harrison got his first start at QB after being a standout receiver for the Blackhawks. The 6'3 195 lbs ATH didn't disappoint as he had many great throws, reads, and runs that kept Brandon in the game, after being down 14-0 in the 1st quarter. Definite D2 prospect.
2019 WR/TE Justin Bowman caught 3 passes for 54 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 of the throws were incredibly tough receptions by Bowman along the sideline and the end zone. Bowman nearly had an incredible catch over his shoulder but couldn't quite track it in time.
2020 RB/FB Adrien Williams is a 6'2 215 lbs RB prospect who was one of Brandon's leading rushers in 2017. Williams as a junior is a bit more compact and is a tough runner. Williams had many important key runs late in the game that sealed the Blackhawks victory. Williams is also coached by one of Pontiac's best - Louis Adams who played at Oklahoma State, so it'll be good to see his improvements in the upcoming 2 years.
2019 Slot/LB Mike Nicaj scored 3 touchdowns for Ortonville-Brandon. Nicaj's 2nd and 3rd touchdowns were him making people miss in open space before he turned on the jets & reached the end zone. Nicaj is a 5'11 180 lbs ATH who if has more performances like Thursday night, will draw interest.
2019 OL/DT/LS Matt Hill is a 4-year varsity starter and the 6' 260 lbs lineman is one of the best Long Snappers around. Hill held down the left side of the line for Brandon as they made their comeback.
2019 CB/WR Devin Krause had a few mistakes early but put them behind and finished with some key contributions throughout the game.
Fenton:
2021 OG Josh Thompson who we ranked #7 in the Class of 2021 didn't get the start, but played mostly all of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. Thompson at RG and Logan Prater were pushing opponents around all night. The 6'4 290 lbs sophomore had several loud pancakes and exceeded over a half-dozen of them.
2019 OT Logan Prater wasn't a player we knew about before the game, but by the first quarter everyone in the stadium seen what #71 was doing. The RT Prater who is 6'2 270 was constantly driving his man down field or anywhere he wanted. Alongside Thompson, Prater caused major holes and good pass protection. Prater should get some FCS looks, but is certainly going to be a name that all Division II schools need to know.
2021 DE/LB Austin Henard had his number in a lot of plays for the Tigers throughout the night. Henard has a good motor and shed his blocks well to make a tackle or assisted tackle.
2019 DE/TE Parker Brady is a 6'3 220 lbs prospect who like we mentioned above left the game in the 3rd quarter. Brady was having a solid game up to that point as he was constantly getting off the line of scrimmage well.
2019 RB Spencer Rivera scored 2 tough rushing touchdowns early in the game and showed some good cuts and vision throughout the game. Rivera at 5'8 175 lbs will draw interest.
