East English Village Prep 2013 CB/RB Desmond King had one season of football at East English Village Prep, but the current NFL CB made an impact on the first-year program back in 2012.

King has returned back to Detroit and to see his former coach, Rod Oden numerous times but this past week, Desmond King was honored at East English Village Prep Academy along with a mock signing day for several current football players.

King as a senior was selected by The D Zone as the Defensive Player of the Year, at the time in 2012 stating, "King would cement himself as the first legend at East English Village Prep."

King had 2,368 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior. However we feel as great as the offensive stats were, that King dominated even more at defensive back. During his senior season King had 41 tackles from the CB position plus another 7 interceptions, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns.

It hasn't been updated on the MHSAA's record book but Desmond King had 29 career interceptions which would be the most all-time in a Varsity career.

King was selected as the Jim Thorpe Award recipient which is awarded to the country's best college football defensive back.

In 2017 Desmond King was drafted #151 overall in the 5th round to the LA Chargers.
