The Detroit Henry Ford Trojans hosted at the time #1 ranked team in the state, Cass Tech and at times appeared the much better team and held off two furious rallies to close the game out in the style.

The first quarter was a back and forth affair with both teams trading baskets that Ford led by 3.

One huge advantage that Ford took advantage of was rebounding, especially on their own missed shots as the Trojans built a 34-25 lead, holding Cass Tech to just 8 points in the 2nd quarter.

Henry Ford didn't get much time to enjoy their lead as the Trojans PA Announcer began the half by saying, "Cass Tech doesn't look like #2 team in the State." He would later refer to them as the #1 team in the state twice in the half.

Cass Tech if they needed an excuse to play better, certainly were fueled as they erased their deficit to eventually lead 40-39.

The Trojans kept the pressure on Cass Tech and eventually all but sealed the game on a corner 3 pointer by Antonio Green which bounced off the rim before falling in.

Green led all scorers with 24, Bryant signee - Anthony Roberts scored 19, and Devontae Ulmer added single-digit points but had some key assists and rebounds for the Trojans.

Chris Murray led the Technicians with 21 points.
