Game Preview and Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Clarkston and Davison (Story)
The 2021 football season is slated to kickoff on August 26th at noon and the action will not stop until Saturday evening. Most of the top 25 teams face tough competition this week and some winning streaks may be snapped early this season.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Davison:
2022 OLB/MLB Gabe Smith returns following an injury that kept him out of his junior season. Smith played a serious role on the 2019 State Championship team and now that he's back will provide a huge boost on and off the field for Davison.
2024 OLB Carter Herriman made his name during the first game of his freshman season last year for the #1 ranked Cardinals. Now that he's had a full season and off-season under his belt, expect much more from Herriman.
2022 OC/OG/DT Zane Richardson returns to anchor an offensive line with several new faces after a big class of 2021 graduation. Richardson has strong interest right now from colleges, but with him being able to help lead a young and explosive offense, will only boost his recruiting.
2022 OL/DL Isaac Norton at 6'1 255 is another who the Cards will rely on up front. Norton holds D-III interest now but will draw more attention this season.
2022 RB/CB Jaylen Flowers returns as the most dangerous offensive threat this year on a team that lost all of their key skill positions. Flowers stood out more as a DB last year, but has a better frame for RB and will show he's capable of playing both this year.
2023 S/WR Zack Pappadakis returns healthy after he was injured late last season and missed all of the off-season. The 6'2 185 lbs prospect is a solid player who will have a fresh chance to show what he can do.
2024 DE Tyler Dosh who is 6' 215 played JV through most of last year and saw some time late in the year last season and will be a key player for Davison these next 3 years.
2025 RB AJ Hill will be a major player for Davison, most people in the loop are aware of who Hill is already. Let's see how soon he emerges on the varsity scene.
Clarkston
2022 QB Mike DePillo returns and is one of the best quarterbacks in the area. The 6'6 QB has a very strong arm and can be a dangerous threat on the ground.
2023 RB Ethan Clark returns after being injured for the 2nd part of last season. Clark is a game-breaker runningback and a legitimate threat to score on every touch. Holds 3 D1 offers.
2023 DL/OL Cole Dellinger returns for his junior season and will be a handful for opponents to slow down this year. 6'4 280 with 5 Power 5 offers and that list will only grow.
2022 RB/LB Mekhi Battle is a 6'1 235 lbs prospect who moves great for his size and has good versatility.
2022 MLB Caleb Stalworth is a solid prospect, good sideline-to-sideline pursuit and can drop back in coverage.
2022 OT/DT Keegan Kelly is a towering figure at 6'7 285 and he looks every bit the 285. Looked good at their scrimmage last week and is still pretty raw, but moves pretty good.
2024 WR Brody Kosin is going to have a chance to step up this year with the Wolves not having a ton of depth and height at the receiver position. With a senior QB getting big looks, Kosin will have a chance to grab attention.
2023 MLB Cavanaugh Diton moves from Salem this year and is another tremendous LB for CHS. Diton had a solid sophomore season and is 6' 220. Averaged over 10 tackles per game last season.
