Game Preview and Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Cass Tech and Muskegon (Story)
The dream matchup is happening, Muskegon will host Cass Tech. These are two of the hottest teams in Michigan and historically you can say they are the most well-known programs. Both are coming off of huge week 1 wins.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Cass Tech:
2022 DT/OT Deone Walker holds 34 offers and is an absolute terror to play against. He will make some huge plays in this game, but Muskegon will do a good job of limiting him and forcing others to step up.
2022 OG/DT Jackson Pruitt had a big off-season and saw his recruiting pick up to 33 offers and he trimmed his final list down to 7 schools. An athletic and versatile player who plays with a chip on his shoulder.
2022 WR/S Jameel Gardner (Bowling Green State commit) is an elite athlete and he'll go up and get just about anything.
2022 OG/OT Masai Reddick (Tennessee commit) is coming off a nice junior year and big off-season which saw him commit to SEC school Tennessee. Reddick is a solid pass block/run block lineman who always gets the job done. Was one of the most impressive players we saw in week 1.
2023 DE Jalen Thompson is coming off a massive sophomore season and immediately reaped the rewards as he picked up 16 offers since the season ended. Thompson is a tough to block pass rusher and can run.
2023 CB/WR Javen Sewell isn't afraid to mix it up with opposing DB's and can cover just as good as anyone in Michigan. It's kind of surprising he hasn't gotten his first offer yet.
2023 TE/WR Khamari Anderson is a monstrous target at 6'4 220 and moves extremely well and has good hands. The younger brother of Michigan signee Raheem Anderson.
2022 CB Míles Gilmore will have a bigger role with some graduates gone that were previously ahead of him and he'll take advantage of the opportunity. Was a standout week 1.
2022 MLB Kyle Booker comes in with big shoes to fill this year behind Kobe King. The 6'1 225 lbs Booker already picked up an NAIA offer.
2022 RB Karriem Sharrieff is a huge-bodied RB who is a downhill runner and wouldn't be shocked to see him on defense as well this year.
2022 WR Nate Briggs is an explosive pass-catching machine who is a big threat in the Slot. Also solid at defensive back.
2023 QB Leeshaun Mumpfield returns after starting as a sophomore last year. Mumpfield is a true field general and can make tough throws. He looked tremendous running and passing the ball in week 1.
2023 RB Shamar Snow is a quick and fast RB who is looking to make a name for himself this season. Had a good week 1 game.
2023 TE/DE RaSean Randall is a very intriguing prospect at 6'4 200 lbs. He looked good at receiver in 7on7 this year but has the frame to add much more weight to. He holds a Syracuse offer.
2022 TE Julius Faulkner - A nice-looking TE prospect who is an H-Back who blocks well and is a big threat in the passing game.
2024 OG/DT Jaylen Washington - He'll be overshadowed by the older lineman he's surrounded by but after his week 1 game, he'll be a major name to know.
Muskegon:
2022 DB/ATH Myles Walton - A wonderful Safety prospect who is a great athlete. He gets to the ball fast and can cover. He leads the Big Reds offense this year as well at QB.
2022 WR Jeremiah Dault - Is one of our favorite and most overlooked receivers in the class. Deceptively fast and has good athleticism.
2024 RB Jakob Price - Young speedster who is quickly making a name for himself.
2024 OG Miguel Botello - Started as a Freshman in the playoffs vs East Grand Rapids last season. Versatile who can also move to Center and will have a chance to be the next star D1 lineman out of Muskegon. Smart and technique-driven.
2024 OT Karl Brooks - A towering left tackle prospect, incredible on his feet, and has tremendous power.
2022 OT Jamarrius Dickerson - Tough and physical run blocker who can pull well and is a 3-year starter.
2022 Slot Da'mari Foster - Twitchy and fast receiver who is a nice playmaker.
2024 Slot Destin Piggee - Fast prospect and soon to be a key piece with more time in the offense.
2022 WR Earnest Young - Provides a nice downfield threat for the Big Reds with good ball skills.
2022 DE/TE Ty Irby - A bit undersized for the positions but makes up for it with strong physical tools and high motor.
2022 OLB Dominic Sugin - Key contributor last year who gets involved in a lot of plays.
2022 OLB MeShaune Crowley - is an Athletic playmaker.
2024 DL Jaheim Mathis - The future is here for the Big Reds on the DL.
