The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes lost were defeated the Warren Michigan Collegiate Cougars 63-46 last night. The loss eliminates the Cranes from the MHSAA playoffs and ends their 2021-2022 season.

Junior John Kersh posted 19 points and 11 rebounds for another double-double to lead the Cranes. Junior Evan Evans led the Cranes with 18 points.

The Cougars shot well within the arc, making key contested shots and pull-up jumpers fall to take the first half lead.

The Cranes tried to close the gap with good 3-point shooting in the second half, but it would not overtake the Cougar lead.

As the season ends, Cranbrook Basketball has group of departing seniors-Shane Wittenberg, Praneel Pillarisetty, Ethan Peruski, Brandon McCaskill, Bennett Luckett, and Benjamin McCaskill who have made solid contributions to the program. Student Manager Bradley Stamell will also graduate this year.

Ben McCaskill has received an offer to continue his basketball career with the Eureka College Red Devils.

Next season looks promising with a good crop of returning juniors lead by leading scorers Evans and Kersh. Sophomore Cooper Gurman and assist leader Freshman Charlie Song both look to also provide a bright future for the Cranes.
