The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes won a home game over the Ann Arbor Greenhills Gryphons 47-40 yesterday. The win evens the head-to-head series at 1-1 for the 2021-2022 season.

Sophomore Cooper Gurman led the Cranes with 14 points. Junior John Kersh had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, with Junior Evan Evans adding 11 points the effort.

Senior Finn Klein and Senior Trevor Finnegan both led the Gryphons with 10 points in the loss.

Cranbrook held on to a 16-9 lead at the half in the CHSL Intersectional I matchup, with Cranbrook building momentum in the second quarter.

That momentum continued after half time, with the Cranes posting a 16-point third quarter to expand their lead.

Greenhills would use several catch-and-shoot 3-pointers to outscore Cranbrook in the fourth quarter, but the Gryphons could not complete the comeback for a victory.

The Cranes move on to face Bishop Foley on the road in CHSL prep action on Friday.
