Cranbrook comeback falls short in 76-68 loss to Riverview Gabriel Richard.
The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes could not complete their comeback attempt, falling 76--68 to the Riverview Gabriel Richard Pioneers on the road last night.
Junior John Kersh led the Cranes with 24 points, while senior Brandon McCaskill had 12 pts in the loss.
Senior Michael Calhoun led the Pioneers with 26 points, with senior Cainan Harrison assisting with 14 points in the victory.
Riverview pushed out to an early 42-21 lead at the half with shots in the paint and a couple of 3-pointers from the corner.
Cranbrook stormed back in the second half, shooting 75% from the field and burying twelve 3-pointers. A possible victory loomed large for the Cranes.
But the Pioneers would close out the game with great passing for open shots in the low post.
Cranbrook continues its CHSL schedule by hosting Ann Arbor Greenhills, while Richard travels to face Cardinal Mooney. Both games are on Tuesday.
