Clarkston basketball coach Dan Fife is retiring (Story)

Clarkston has emerged as one of the state's best basketball programs and if that is to continue, it will be behind a new head coach.

On Tuesday afternoon initially the Detroit Free Press reported that Clarkston coach Dan Fife will be retiring after 36 years.

The past two seasons Fife has led the Clarkston Wolves to consectutive Class A State Championship victories.

During his time at Clarkston; Fife coached for 36 seasons, had 703 wins, won 29 league Championships, won 30 District Championships, won 13 Regional Championships, scored 1,589 points as a player, and was the first freshman ever to play varsity basketball at Clarkston.
